about cmx
Crazy Mountain Motorsports Inc. has been building and selling CRAZY MOUNTAIN XTREME (CMX) snowmobiles to HORSEPOWER CRAVING ADRENALINE JUNKIES since 1996. The troops at Crazy Mountain Motorsports Inc. are totally committed to the future and the continued improvement of CMX products. We love this stuff and we are here for the long haul. We feel that one of the reasons for our success, is that we have always lived and ridden snowmobiles in the mountains, so we know what it takes to get it done. It comes back to our old saying, "WE DON'T JUST BUILD 'EM, WE RIDE 'EM". & “BUILT TO BE THE BEST CUZ WE RIDE ‘EM TOO”.
Some people are not aware of how the CMX has evolved and improved over the years. Large manufacturers are committed to a given design or model for a complete season. Therefore, if they find an improvement or performance gain, they have to shelve it until the following season. At Crazy Mountain Motorsports Inc., we do things on a much smaller scale. (Our production is 6 CMX's at a time). We don't have 100,000 widgets on the shelf that we have to use before we can start using the better widget. Therefore when we find something that is a better design or improves performance, it goes on the next CMX that we build.
Being small- has some other advantages as well. We can still do business on a personal level. For instance, when a customer comes to pick up his or her new CMX, we take them on an orientation ride. It is on this ride that we can get to know each other, as well as break in their new sled and answer any questions that may arise. Not to mention the chance to do what we really love to do…Go play in the steep & deep.
Side Bar Note: Why doesn't CMX build an A-arm front end sled, like all the majors are leaning toward? The reason is very simple. With more components of the A-arm front end comes more weight. You can't build an A-arm front end as light as a trailing arm front end. We believe that for all out snow-cross racing, rough trail pounding and hard ditch bangin', the A-arm front end is the answer, but in 4 FEET OF POWDER SNOW, you're not going to feel 1/8" of bump steer. If CMX were to build a trail sled, it would have an A-arm front end. Hey! What an idea! A CMX trail sled! Light-weight, high-performance, full on trail rocket! Who knows?
CMX ROCKS!
